An Open Letter on Howie’s Visit To Manila

June 5th, 2008 by bsbfcp

Dear BSBFCP Community,

Greetings!

As you may be aware, Howie Dorough was supposed to visit Manila
sometime this July to promote his single with Sarah Geronimo.
Negotiations were about to take place with Sarah’s label but we were
regretfully informed that Howie’s visit would be postponed due to his
father’s severe illness.

We would like to ask for your prayers and continued support for the
recovery of Howie’s father and to strengthen Howie and his family in
these trying times.

If you wish to post your messages for Howie, you may go to the Forums or at the Multiply link below:

http://bsbfanclubphils.multiply.com/journal/item/54

These messages will then be sent to Howie’s internet assistant by June 13, 2008.

As we support Howie in these times, let us continue to pray for him
and his family and hope that he will be able to visit us soon.

Many thanks and God bless,

Sarah Geronimo records duet with Backstreet Boy Howie D

April 4th, 2008 by bsbfcp

Fresh
from a hugely-successful concert tour of Canada and the US, Sarah
Geronimo stayed behind in LA to do the vocals for a duet with
Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough in LA. The song, titled I’ll Be There and
produced by Christian de Walden, will be included in Sarah’s latest CD
which will be released in July. De Walden is the same guy who acted as
go-between for Claire dela Fuente and Richard Carpenter for Claire to
record the song Something in Your Eyes.

Howie D. reached
worldwide fame as a member of the BSB along with AJ McLean, Brian
Littrell, Kevin Richardson and Nick Carter. He is best known for his
falsetto singing which is easily recognizable in hits like I Want It
That Way, Drowning, The Perfect Fan and Show Me the Meaning of Being
Lonely.

He is the lead singer
in the songs Spanish Eyes, What Makes You Different Makes You Beautiful
and How Did I Fall in Love with You. He is set to visit the Philippines
in July to shoot a video with Sarah and promote the duet.

More awards for Sarah

Sarah Geronimo can already rest on her laurels, after all, at her age
she has been collecting awards since the day she won the amateur
singing contest that jumpstarted her career in show business.

Recently, she added several trophies to her collection of trophies and plaques.

The
Viva singing star topped this year’s MYX Music Awards, bagging the
Favorite Song Award for the Medwin Marfil’s “Ikaw,” from her
all-original Filipino album, TakingFlight.

Sarah was also named Favorite Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Artist of the Year and MYX Celebrity VJ of the Year.

On
top of that, Sarah was chosen Best Female Performer in the
recently-concluded Guillermo Mendoza Awards. (Martin Nievera was Best
Male Performer.)

Unfortunately,
Sarah was not around to personally receive her harvest of awards. She
is now in Canada on a concert tour with Rachelle Ann Go, Mark Bautista
and Christian Bautista.

She had just performed in Winnipeg where fans packed the music hall.

Thanks
to new technology however, the enterprising guys in MYX USA were able
to videotape Sarah’s delivering her “thank you” speech.

There
is no question that Sarah deserves the awards. She is one of a few
artists who can draw a big crowd and fill up the Araneta Coliseum. Her
last concert, Sarah Geronimo in Motion rocked the Big Dome and has been
recorded for posterity on DVD.

Her
fourth album, Taking Flight, also topped the music charts. Almost
500,000 have viewed her music video, “How Could You Say You Love Me,”
on YouTube.

Reports
have it that Sarah will stay behind in Los Angeles after the Champions
tour to record a duet with a cute member of one of the biggest boy
bands in pop music history. The song will be included in her new album
for release in July, her birth month.

An Open Letter to the BSBFCP Members

February 6th, 2008 by bsbfcp

Dear Fellow Members,

Mabuhay!

We are pretty sure that
most of you, if not all, are now well aware that our country has been
recently added as one of the venues for the Unbreakable Tour.

In
light of this exciting news, we contacted Sony-BMG Philippines to
confirm and inquire on the matter. We were told, however, that as of
date, there are still no confirmations from the Sony Regional Office
nor from any of the concert/tour promoters here in the Philippines.
This may bring confusion to many as the supposed concert date is just a
few days away.

Be that as it may, we are still hopeful for
developments and clarifications in the coming days and are currently
awaiting for any information we can acquire from the people in charge.

We
have already sent letters of inquiry to the Boys’ Management, Web
Administrators and international tour coordinators in the hope of
getting updates or other information. We are still not in the position
to definitely or finally confirm nor deny anything.

We are now
asking for your prayers that all will turn out positively, as well as
for your patience and understanding. We are doing everything we can to
keep you all informed and updated on matters relating to this issue.

Thank you for your continued support, patience and understanding.

Keeping the Backstreet pride alive,

The Administrators of Backstreet Boys Fan Club Philippines
